Croeso y Dosbath Rhinoseros, year 5/6!
We are a mixed Year 5 and 6 class of 28 pupils. Our class teacher is Mr Callaghan and we also have two other teachers in class, Mrs Cox and Mrs Kirkwood. We will keep our class page updated throughout the year to show you all of the interesting things we have been getting up to inside and out of class!
P.E is every Tuesday afternoon and pupils will need to come to school in their P.E kit. This term we are focusing on rugby and football.
Forest School is every Wednesday morning. Pupils will need to come to school in their forest school bottoms with wellies in addition to their school shoes where available.
This year pupils throughout upper KS2 have been accessing and taking part in the Compass for Life program as a Monmouthshire wide initiative. Pupils have been identifying their goals and asperations for later life as well as their short term targets for improvement. Pupils had a fantastic visit from Floyd who gave an inspirational presentation on the program and what pupils could expect to learn throughout the year.
In forest school this term we have been focusing on outdoor skills such as fire building and whittling as well as den building and using materials to create a shelter.
Pupils have worked together effectively as a team to ensure that the jobs and responsibilities around camp are shared and swapped between everyone so that we can all learn new skills and put these into practice.
