WALT rounding to the nearest 10
Good morning all, today we will be looking at rounding to the nearest 10 and 100.
Rounding can help us make quick estimates when we are counting.
A simple rhyme to help is: 1,2,3,4 down to the floor, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, climb the vine.
Simply put if a number ends in a digit 1-4 then we round down to the nearest 10
e.g. if were to round 23 to the nearest 10 it would equal 20 because 3 is closer to 20.
If we were to round 137 it would be 140 because 7 is closer to 40.
