Office 365 and Minecraft
Microsoft Office and Minecraft are available for all pupils and staff at the school.
The licensing deal contains a range of Microsoft products, including the full desktop version of Microsoft Office 365 ProPlus which includes a Welsh language interface and proofing tools, along with additional security features.
Also included is Minecraft Education Edition with Code Builder which provides a range of ways for learners to explore, create and experiment with coding. This supports the Welsh Government’s Cracking the Code plan to expand coding in every part of Wales.
All teachers and learners will be able to download and install the latest versions of all these software applications on up to 5 personal devices at no cost. Online versions of the software applications will continue to be available through Hwb for use anywhere, such as public computers in libraries.

Digital Learning
At our school we embrace the use of digital technologies for teaching and learning.
Pupils and staff are able to use chrome books, iPads and computers within lessons. to complete and deliver tasks. This allows us to deliver the skills that will help learners thrive in an increasingly digital world following the introduction of the Digital Competence Framework.
We use Microsoft Office 365 including Teams for many of our activities involving digital technology.
We provide a safe filtered environment for staff and pupils to use digital technologies and ensure that we are all responsible users of the internet.
All staff agree to acceptable use of ICT on commencement of employment.
Within our home school agreement, parents agree to acceptable use statements with regards to ICT when signing the agreement. Parents also have to agree that the school is allowed to use any photos/videos of their children online or in newspapers. Where permission is not given, staff ensure that these pupils photos/videos remain offline and out of any newspapers.
We help pupils to be responsible users of ICT by discussing acceptable use agreements with them and asking them to sign up. E-safety is an important part of all our digital activities.

Digi Leaders
A group of pupils support pupils, staff and families with the use of digital technologies. Their role is developing and improving all the time.
Some of their tasks include;
- assemblies
- recording events digitally and sharing
- supporting teaching and learning
- working with families
- improving the use of digital technology in our community
- providing training
- working with small groups of children on ICT activities

Hwb is the digital platform for learning and teaching in Wales. Hwb provides its users with access to a range of centrally-funded, bilingual, digital tools and resources. It is the Welsh Government’s strategic digital channel to support the delivery of the curriculum in Wales. Hwb provides access to:

- thousands of bilingual resources
- information about online safety.
Access to our learning and teaching resources is available to everyone.
In addition Hwb users (users with a login) have access to:

Hwb logins are available to all teachers and learners in maintained schools in Wales. All maintained schools have access to login details.
