Topic Work / Gwaith Thema
Our school topic this term is "We are family" - "Teulu ydyn ni".
Please find attached below our project overview for this term.
We have been busy exploring what "family" means to us, drawing self portraits, talking about why our family is special and creating our own family trees.
Pwy sydd tu ôl y drws? / Who is behind the door?
We really enjoyed looking at all of our baby photos and guessing who everyone was. We then talked about how we are the same and how we are different and traced our baby pictures.
Pwy wyt ti? / Who are you?
We had a special delivery from the shoemakers to our class. We measured the different shoes using cubes and rulers and guessed who they belonged to. Is that your shoe Mr Kane?
We looked at where we live on a map. We really enjoyed using google maps to 'walk' around Abergavenny.
Ble wyt ti'n byw? / Where do you live?
Bonfire Night / Noson tân gwyllt
Dosbarth Llew had a day of virtual bonfire night celebrations. We discussed how we can keep safe around fireworks, created sparklers using tissue paper, painted fireworks, created bonfires in the loose parts area and watched our own virtual firework display followed by hot chocolate and marshmallows. Remembrance Day
We paid our tributes to those who helped to protect our country in the war. Lest we forget.

Christmas / Nadolig
We had lots of fun learning how to sew, creating our own Christmas trees using leaves we found outside, decorating our melted snowman biscuits and creating Christmas crowns.

Mixed: A Colourful Story by Arree Chung
Dosbarth Llew have been busy studying the book 'Mixed'. We have discussed how love, colour and diversity makes the world a better place, designed our own 'Red Town', used our senses to describe all things yellow, wrote our own poems inspired by 'What is Pink?' by Christina Rossetti, designed our own mixed characters, experimented with mixing colours and made our own salt dough mixed characters. To finish our work on this book, we collaboratively created a Mixed display in the corridor. Gwaith arbennig 
Weekly enhanced challenges
Every week we have challenges that we can complete independently around the classroom. Some of our favourite challenges this term have been building houses for the animals and 3 little pigs, painting the different seasons, building towers and making jigsaws.
